Blood is a specialized bodily fluid that delivers necessary substances to the body's cells, such as nutrients and oxygen and transports waste products away from those same cells and also one of the vital components for the survival of a human being.
As per the survey done in 2008, about 40% of deaths in hospitals of Hubli-Dharwad are due to lack of blood donors being the primary reason. Secondary reasons are lack in awareness in regard of blood grouping and blood donation and also myths about blood donation is adding a lot to it.
40% death rate is very high when compared with the stats of occurring deaths. So as to bring down the death rate which is majorly caused by lack of blood donors at hospitals of Hubli-Dharwad, since jan-2009 I have organized blood grouping and blood donation camps at various colleges and working places of Hubli-Dharwad, not only conduction of camps, also students and citizens are educated about importance of blood donation and there myths about blood donations are also cleared by doctors.
